The Midwest, which is also known as the American heartland and America's breadbasket, is paired off into two major regions; The Great Plains and The Great Lakes. The Midwestern states of Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma and South Dakota are located in the Great Plains and the states of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin are located in the Great Lakes region and are all rich in history, culture, and natural beauty.
