IOWA WINERIES AVA - Ohio River Valley
Famous
as a "corn state", Iowa has focused on growing wine grapes in recent
years. Acreage under vine is increasing rapidly, with over 60 wineries
now licensed in the state. Iowa’s soils vary greatly, from those very
high in clay, to soils that are gravel based. The areas showing the
greatest potential for vines are in the westward “Loess Hills” area and
in the northeast, with its magnificent limestone-based soils and steep
slopes that stretch over about 20 miles. Total number of Wineries in Iowa (2008): 62

| PARK FARM WINERY & CUSHMAN FAMILY VINEYARDS Who We Are:
Park Farm Winery is a family business intent on providing our visitors
with truly fine Iowa produced wine in a setting reminiscent of a Grant
Wood Painting. Park Farm is a reality because of the dreams, plans and
talents of many people. May our gratitude and reverence for the
opportunity to share a very special place and way be obvious to our
visitors. Our vineyard was established in 2001. We have 5 acres of
French hybrid grapes. Our emphasis is on the production of premium
table wines from Iowa grown fruit.
